The challenge:
Texas Window Solutions received a call recently from a League City Texas home owner who had recently moved to Texas.  This customer had a large two story room with numerous large windows.  These windows faced both South and West so in the afternoon the heat and sunlight became almost unbearable.  She was hoping we could provide a solution that would make the room more comfortable.  It was important to the homeowners to reduce heat, but they did not want to make the room too dark.  After listening to their concerns, we had a recommended solution.

For the windows that face West:

* Product: Solar screens with genuine Phifer fabric (brand name in Solar Screens, most durable)

* Fabric choice: Suntex 90 (most restrictive fabric, blocks 90% of the Sun’s energy)

* Style: Black mesh and “champaign” frame – good visibility mesh; complimented appearance of home)

For the windows that face South:

All the same, but with Suntex 80 solar screen instead of the 90 (better visibility, more light transmission)

This League City customer was very satisfied with the outcome.  The room is cooler, and it’s generally more comfortable without the intense sunlight.
