Solar Control Window Shades Houston Texas

 

The Challenge:

We recently received a call from Houston home owners who had lost a few trees as a result of Hurricane Ike.  For all of last summer, they had to deal with much more sunlight than before.  Their living room had 6 very tall windows that faced east and south.  Since their house is located on a small creek, they had a wonderful view from these windows that they did not want to lose.  They needed a window shade that would control the sunlight, but still allow them to enjoy their view.  We new just what she needed.

 

The Solution:

Product: Roll-a-way shades made with Phifer Solar Control Fabric

Fabric:  Phifer Shearweave

Color: Oyster/Beige

Hardware: Continuous cord loop control and a fabric covered decorative facia

We chose roll-a-way shades because of their durability and ease of use.   Phifer Series 2500 was our screen choice because it blocks most of the Sun's light and heat, and because these windows were very large and received intense afternoon sunlight. Series 2500 has a 1% Openess which we believed was a good choice because of the large window size and because the room housed the family TV so a darker shade would be best.   The customer chose Oyster/beige to compliment the darker browns in the furniture, cabinets and floor.

These customers were very pleased with the look and function of these shades.  She can retract and lower them throughout the day according to the Sun's position in the sky to achieve the perfect amount of sunlight.
